Tell us a bit about yourself and how you like to get outside?

As a Londoner we can get caught up in the city life of buildings and all the hustle and bustle and the noise. The great outdoors is a fantastic resource that can stimulate positive thinking and healthy lifestyles overall improving our well being in the most natural ways we can. I have always had a strong connection with the outdoors and am fascinated by the unknown.

A journey of self discovery is always found better when you don’t know what could happen round the corner. Taking on challenges, pushing my limits and connecting with individuals who find their true north in mother nature.

What’s your favourite route or place to go and why?

Deon Barrett’s Favourite Hiking Route – Yr Wyddfa, Miners Track – Eryri

My favourite route and location must be Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Miners Path. Starting at Pen Y Pass car park the location gives stunning views and a test of the mountain you’ll be climbing today. Proven to be a smooth yet testing trail as this was my first mountain climbed at the age of 8 years of age. Now I find myself here at least once every few months either on my own or with groups.

You can find this route on the Explorer Map OL 106

Looking for more routes to the summit of Yr Wyddfa?

Find all of the routes up Yr Wyddfa and pick which one is right for your next challenge – Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) Route Guides

What’s your fave bit of kit available on the OS Shop?

My first bit of kit I love is the OS Maps App due to its user friendly system which has proven to be a great bit of kit.
