Meet Jack Anderson, an outdoor instructor who loves a route with a pub at the end!

Tell us a bit about yourself and how you like to get outside?

I’m Jack and outdoor instructor currently based in the South. When outside I can usually be found on the water canoeing or kayaking, or walking (most of the time with a pub at the end of the route!).

At work I can be found running climbing, archery or paddling sessions or if I’m lucky Duke of Edinburgh walks or residential!

What’s your favourite route or place to go and why?

Drogo to Fingle Map Route

Jack Anderson’s Favourite Hiking Route – Drogo to Fingle, Devon

My favourite route is Drogo to Fingle. It’s a fantastic walk, with a little up and down. It provides amazing views nearly all the way round, a scenic castle with gardens and allows exploration of one of the UKs temperate rainforests!

What’s your fave bit of kit available on the OS Shop?

The roamer tool is my favourite piece of kit, it’s a testament to good things come in small packages! It’s such a handy item to use when out walking and navigating and especially when teaching navigation to groups it makes work easier!
